Heath Ceramics
If you’ve ever stepped into one of Heath Ceramics brick and mortar locations, you know, it’s a place of elevated artistry that no other home goods shop can live up to. Immediately you will be overcome by appreciation for the workmanship, design and community that the brand stands behind.
It’s more than just an aesthetic. From every little seasonal ceramic bud vase on display, to cereal bowls, plates, tiles, perfectly curated minimal and beautiful accessories, you feel comforted…a good feeling, like you wish your entire house was filled with these treasures.
Some come at heftier prices than others, like their etched serving platters, but good news is, you can sometimes snatch a gem or two on sale because of some imperfections that I find to be less than noticeable and totally worth it!
This place is a danger zone for any food photogs or stylists/wannabes like myself, especially because I end up purchasing a myriad of mix-matched pieces but wishing I could house entire lines like the Coupe (most classically Heath) or Rim. I realized though no matter which pieces you that mix and match, they all go so harmoniously together.
Over the last couple of years, I have been slowly collecting pieces for my newfound love of food photography/styling, and during special occasions, I bust out the entire Heath rainbow (see gallery below) to serve my dishes in. For some, their lines may be used for everyday enjoyment, but I keep all of mine encased in its own section of my dining room hutch.
Whether being served delectable food on these incomparably crafted plates at a restaurant (like Tartine!), having some cereal in any of their Café, Dessert or Mini (my favorite) bowls, or gazing at the beauty of a single fresh or dried floral stem in any of their bud vases, having even one piece of Heath will keep you happy at home for years to come!
